The “UV-Dress”, the “Climate dress” and the “Solar Bag” played a central role while
princess Mary´s actively participated in a exhibition about Climate, environment and
health issues. Our work with Smart textiles triggered curiosity at the Opera in Holmen, Copenhagen.
Is it heavy ? Warm? How does it work with the closing and opening of those soft apertures ?
Many questions, while Princess Mary visited the stand where Diffus presented their latest projects on environmental issues
realised together with project partners “Alexandra Institute”.
In fact, the UV-project had its mediatic debuts the day before, during the evening talk show on DR1, the Danish main TV Channel.
Mary (princess) with Ole madsen (leader at Alexandra Institute), Rikke Koch (Project manager at Alexandra Institute),
Hanne Louise Johannesen (partner at Diffus), Michel Guglielmi (partner at Diffus) and the model wearing the UV-Dress during the ”Health Environment Climate” exhibition at the Danish Royal Opera.
The UV-Dress is the result of a collaboration with Alexandra Institute and Designer Mette Lindberg.

Together with Mary (princess) with Ole madsen (leader at Alexandra Institute), Rikke Koch (Project manager at Alexandra Institute) and Hanne Louise Johannesen (partner at Diffus), Michel Guglielmi (partner at Diffus) and the model wearing the UV-Dress during the ”Health Environment Climate” exhibition at the Danish Royal Opera.
The Exhibition “Health Environment Climate” will take place the 25th of April 2012 from 2pm to 5pm at the Royal Danish Opera. Crown Princess Mary of Denmark will open the exhibition. For this event, Diffus was invited to create an artistic statement on contemporaneous environmental and climatic concerns. We teamed up with knowledge center Alexandra Institute to realize the “UV-Dress”, a dress made with a pattern of soft apertures located over all the summer dress and reacting organically to the amount of UV by gently opening up or closing down the orifices which expose the skinto the sun. This reactive UV-dress will be presented during the limited time of the exhibition.
Local medias speculate if her Highness will bewearing the dress…Stay tuned !
Starting July 2th, the prestigious Red Dot Museum in Essen will exhibit some of our projects. The exhibition called Moving Materials and curated by “Material Senses” represents how innovative, smart and sensitive materials can contribute to inspiring products for a sustainable society.
The exhibition will then travel to the Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven (October 20th to 28th).
Friday morning, The work by Diffus and our collaboration with Alexandra Institute will be shown on channel TV2 at “Go´ morgen Danmark”, a popular morning show on Danish TV.
